We have to report the very sad news that the league president, Alan Humble has sadly peacefully passed away.

Alan was the league secretary for some years and made the job look easy, which is testament to the hard work, organisation and capability he brought – for the benefit of others.

A confirmed bachelor, Alan lived close to his home club of many years, the Priory Social. Health issues meant that his weekly playing involvement with the league diminished over the years but his independence still saw him regularly cycling all over the town and keeping up with socialising with friends. A very computer-literate pensioner, Alan used these skills to work on the league administration – sometimes unseen, but most definitely appreciated by all players of the league he did so much to keep running.

All involved with the league pass on their deepest sympathies to Alan’s friends and family and also say a heartfelt thank you for the years of hard work Alan selflessly devoted to the Teesside Friendly League.

Rest in Peace Alan.
